Good point, another reason why the EPL is so strong that I hadn't considered...BTW Ronaldo won't be spending 5-8 years at Madrid surely?? whatever contract he might have... maybe he will go back to Portugal when his head gets too big to fit into the Bernabéu.... Having said all that, I really hope he stays at Man U - he is one of the jewels in the crown of the EPL, he owes it to himself to stay here! I was talking about maybe a four year deal with a one year extension. Maybe after that he goes to Milan for 3 totaling in 7-8 years. But the Ronaldo talks seem to be heating up again. www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=798845 I know this is 3 days old but still.

Does Roanldo speak with forked tongue?? news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/7546390.stmMy feeling is that Yes, he certainly does want to go to Madrid and that's exactly what will happen NEXT season... Fergie told him a couple of weeks ago (reportedly) that he should do one more year then ManU would not stand in his way.... To be fair, Fergie has hit the nail on the head by saying realistically what youngster's head would NOT be turned by the sort of cash that was on the table.... As far as I know, players get 10% of the transfer fee (or maybe their agents do...) but 10% of an absolutely absurd bordering on obscene amount of money is tempting apparently even when you are already earning obscene amounts of money... BTW Sepp Blatter is now denying that he ever equated footballers with wage slaves...

I am a United fan (by association of Wife) and I say let the prick go. If he doesn't want to play for the team then he will be a distraction in the locker room. Get that cash and find someone who wants to win the UEFA C.L. with United (unless Celtic get there first).

He has said he will play with just as much enthusiasm this year, and honestly I believe him, you can tell he loves being out there playing football and I think he will prove what a great player he is again this season... He only needs to score one goal to get the fans back on side after all... seeing as he will not play at the beginning there is not much hope of a another 42 goal season, but if he does well, Real will come in for him next year - if he goes off the boil, Real won't want him anyway....

i think Real will want him even if he kinda sucks this upcoming season. They figure, he hasn't reached his prime, and they are hoping he reaches his prime in RMA.

Looks like Berbatov definitely wants to go to manU, Tottenham sidelined him on Saturday - but then Barry really wanted to go to Liverpool... Wenger has admitted that he too is watching the Barry situation...

Berbatov to man U (no surprise) Robinho to Man C (big surprise...out-gunned Chelsea to get their man...) Evidently with Arab cash behind them Man C are intending to be the next Chelsea buying the most expensive players regardless of their talent (who knew how weak Andriy Shevchenko was going to be until Chelsea bought him??) Wright-Philips returned to Man City and scores two on his debut... Oh Yeah - and Keegan quit Newcastle today after they brought in just one player at the last moment.. I presume he was promised a t least three or four new top players... He even said there is no way they would be selling Milner...and then he went to Villa for £12m

Im really surprised with the Robinho move. Its almost comical how Chelsea lost out on RobinhoLook out Man City is up and coming. RMA got owned this offseason...because of their slow witted president Ronaldo is not part of RMA and Robinho has left RMA because of that. RMAs only move this summer was Van Der Vaart. Dont' look for RMA repeating as champs this season.
