yea I'm expecting them to at least to at least make it through this season without being relegated. Of course cash from the EPL will help, but a committed ownership with cash to spend will get them far.

You're right survival is the most you can hope for - I guess that they are building a solid defence for that reason... latest rumours and news (sorry about the English spellings...) Tottenham have complained that Liverpool are trying to entice away Robbie Keane and man U are doing the same with Berbatov, calling their behaviour 'disgraceful'.. Stoke have bought Kitson from Reading for a club record of £5.5m and Ferguson has 'spoken' to Ronaldo and is confirming that he will stay at Man U - rumours are that maybe he has told him that he can go next year with the clubs blessing??

There's a reason why these top clubs manage to yank the best players from other teams. Maybe their ,as you said, under the table deals. As for Ronaldo, that might actually be the case, it seems like thats how its playing out now.

I officially hate Fulham or David Healy for that matter, if his team lets this crap slide them screw them and I hope they get regulated to the lowest level possible. I know this is the wrong post to put this in but it just pissed me off. Keep Football to Football. I know I have cracked jokes at Rangers and their fans, but it was all in good fun. www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_3845243,00.html

it is offensive towards some people so actions should be taken. Im not to convince with what the Healy camp are saying In other news, PSG signed Claude Makelele.

Footballers get caught in the moment like the rest of us, he knows he did something stupid... Robbie fowler once pretended to snort the by-line as a goal celebration, funny but equally shocking and not the best example to set... We've all done it, just that usually only our mates see it. I'm not making excuses, it was stupid and there was no way he was 'innocently' pretending merely to play the flute, he was reacting to the crowd, but professionals can't afford to do that otherwise we'll be pulling Eric Cantona's off the fans at every match... I would like to see more 'fans' pulled up on what they say to players though, there's a lot of nastiness goes on in the crowd. Ermm yes, back to the topic... the Ronaldo saga goes on today with Fergie warning that a move to Real would be bad for Ronaldo (needs to convince his agent about that!!!)

but professionals can't afford to do that otherwise we'll be pulling Eric Cantona's off the fans at every match... ;D People act without thinking lots of times. As for Ronaldo, staying or going to RMA I dont know how it hurts his career like Fergie is saying. But I'd rather he stay for at least one more season.

I must say that Fergie is not making the best argument, but he may be implying that his value will go down if he does not demonstrate loyalty and a willingness to honor his contract - after all there are only a couple of teams that could afford him...Man U are one of them, this is to a degree what happened to Beckham, he naffed off Fergie, then did not impress Capello at Real...where do you go??? To some degree that is why he ended up coming to the MLS. He can't come back to ManU, and therefore he can't realistically come back to the EPL, same will apply to Ronaldo... It would not be easy for such a big star so closely affiliated to Man U to come back and play for Chelsea for example... the fans would not be happy at all. I think this is a typical Fergie veiled threat - he is saying, OK go then, but you will never play in the EPL again... just my opinion of course...

So you're saying there a chance he would play in the MLS . Ok realistically, after RMA he would probably just go to Italy or back to the EPL even if it means pissing off Man U fans.

I don't think he's ready for the MLS just yet... Italy would be the only other league for him probably, only Newcastle seriously wanted Beckham when he finished at Madrid, and they are not glamorous enough... If Ronaldo left ManU would not buy him again, chances are that Chelsea would not buy him because of his associations with ManU, who else would stump up the cash? Only Arsenal I think, and Ronaldo is not French so that's that! In other news, Barry was 'greeted' by the Villa fans at a pre-season friendly with jeering for the full hour that he played... news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/aston_villa/7520829.stm'bit embarrassing seeing as Villa and Liverpool can't agree terms, so as yet, he's not going anywhere...

Even If arsenal wanted him, would he really want to go there? We're talking 5-8 years from now. Maybe it wont be such a long shot for the MLS by then. But my money is on Italy....most likely AC Milan.

probably right...depends on how the MLS goes... lets face it, the MLS has grown quite a bit from a couple seasons ago....but not far enough. At this rate we wont haul any quality players. The weak dollar is definitely a major factor, so it really depends on the rules the MLS sets, the status of the American economy and dollar, and whether the MLS will be good enough for star players to cross the pond.

Good point, another reason why the EPL is so strong that I hadn't considered...BTW Ronaldo won't be spending 5-8 years at Madrid surely?? whatever contract he might have... maybe he will go back to Portugal when his head gets too big to fit into the Bernabéu.... Having said all that, I really hope he stays at Man U - he is one of the jewels in the crown of the EPL, he owes it to himself to stay here!
