Apparently MLS is considering this idea.

MLS designated city, at least for now. I think the supporter's shield and home field advantage during conference matchups is good enough for high-scoring regular-season teams. Also, I love how BIG the event is at the moment, with the host being able to plan so well. If each franchise can consistently keep in the black enough and have enough sway in their community to ensure the same kind of involvement on a week's notice, then I'd say move to the final team with the better record.

hmm, ur idea sounds good for now. but the idea of moving the final to the home field of the team, is probably more of an incentive for teams to perform, and for the fans to get our there and support their teams. i doubt that they'll change it for next season.
