In what has been a frantic fortnight for Newcastle United fans we have seen the following developments: 1) Keegan misses training to have talks with board 2) Reports that Keegan has quit as manager because of the fact that he has no control over players being bought and sold 3) Claims that talks are ongoing, both parties deny that Keegan has quit. 4) Keegan finally quits 5) Fans go ballistic and picket the ground, significant numbers are missing from Saturdays game (which they lose). Some supporters even took the opportunity to go into the ground, mark their seats as 'for sale' then leave. There was a group of three seats for sale, the third one said 'buy two get one free'! 6) Neither Mike Ashley or Dennis Wise dare show their faces at the ground. 7) Protests carry on throughout the 'toon' meanwhile Keegan comes back from Holiday to talk to Mike Ashley in London. 8) Mike Ashley puts Newcastle up for sale...
(maybe the talks were about whether Kev wanted to buy Newcastle??) Anybody got a clue what is happening here, where will this end?

its just one big mess. Newcastle's managment has been terrible in recent years. I dont know if its a matter of egos clashing or what but this is going to drag on for weeks. I guess the owners, manager, players dont see eye to eye? what do you guys think.

Looks like Mike Ashley has panicked (he is a big HBOS shareholder and may be worried about his investment...) and put NU up for sale at £480m twice the price he paid for it. The Dubai consortium are rumored to be interested, but this could be a ploy as they are also interested in Liverpool. However Ashley has spoken publicly about the fact that the 'toon' are after his blood and he has received threats - this has not endeared NU to potential investors! The feeling is that if they buy the club, they will reinstate Kev....

Tell them to give you some insider info if and when they're buying a club

The price is going down - I might buy it myself if I fancied the chance to swear at some journalists. I think Kinnear is using the Jose Muhrino theory of mouthing off so that he becomes the focus rather than the team - if that's true it's quite clever (although he may have decided to use that tactic after he'd already mouthed off to be fair...). Time will tell - let's hope it's over soon - I'm not convinced Kev will come back, Kinnear said that Shearer was also waiting in the wings, which turns out to be cobblers (according to Shearer...). It's not helping Michael Owen which is a shame, he keeps scoring lately but didn't get into the England squad... It's not his fault if Newcastle are falling apart, he's still doing his level best and hitting the back of the net - I know Crouch jas an uncanny knack of scoring, but would you honestly pick Crouch ahead of Owen in your own team if you had the choice???

Crouch over Owen, I think not.

yeah im not sure I would go for Crouch over Owen. To begin with, I'm not really a fan of Crouch's game. Honestly I'd pick Owen.

Well, I truly hope Crouch sticks one in the net if he gets on the pitch, but I wonder at Capello's judgment... I have never been comfortable with the thought of Crouch playing for England, but he does have a knack of scoring - I just think if you're relying on Crouch, then you've more or less given up on driving into the opposition's penalty area and have settled for lobbing in hopeful balls which are too high for anybody but Crouch (6'7") to reach... this has 'plan B' written all over it...

lol...seriously though, With England you have great talent all over, even up front. Crouch is the type of player you put in with 30 minutes left if your offense hasn't managed to do anything.
