If anyone read the MLSnet.com article you should already know this.
Basically 4 teams will qualify from US and Mexico. 2 Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Panama and 1each from Canada, Belize and Nicaragua will join three Caribbean teams in the draw, which will be announced June 11.
The US Representatives are:
MLS Cup Champion: Houston Dynamo Regular Season Champions: DC United US Open Cup Champion: New England MLS Cup Runner-up: Chivas USA (since NE already qualified the team with the 2nd best point total will qualify).
4 groups of 4 teams each. Top 2 advance to quarterfinals.
And of course the Winner of the tourney will represent Concacaf in the 09 Fifa World Cup.

Oh yea, so in reality it will most likely be 5 MLS teams for a chance to represent Concacaf in the Club World Cup.

Fox Soccer Channel is set to broadcast the CONCACAF Champions League games. They will apparently show all matches, including group stage matches.

here is the Wikipedia information on the Champions League. So far the only thing I don't like is the 2 Leg final. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONCACAF_Champions_League_2008-09The Groups have been drawn along with were the winners (games 1-8) will go within the groups. Check it out.

what? wtf do we need two legs for the final....just have the final be hosted at a specific place from the start...like the uefa champions league. Other than that Houston and DCU always seem to be in these international tourneys. I cant wait for the fire to start participating in these...if at all.

as long as the Fire place in the Top 4 you shouldn't have any problems, but be careful what you wish for, we played in too many. It hurt the team as a whole being thrown in so many different directions. If we would not have played in the last Champions Cup I think we might have a better record in the season.

yeah but if it means getting some silverware then its worth it. All the fire seem to win is the US open cup.
