Chivas USA urge patience with Bofo Bautista's MLS adaptation: "This league is different, it takes time"CARSON, Calif. – Those anticipating an immediate splash from MLS newcomer Adolfo “Bofo” Bautista might have to temper their expectations as Chivas USA appear to be easing their big offseason acquisition into the fold. Bautista played only the second half of the Goats’ 2-0 scrimmage win over the USL PDL's Orange County Blues on Monday – mostly alongside backups – and afterward head coach Wilmer Cabrera explained his plan to slowly incorporate his 34-year-old forward into the mix. “It’s a tough change for him because this is more physical,” Cabrera told MLSsoccer.com. “There’s more running, but his attitude and mentality are very positive. We want to take care of him. He’s working very well and I think it’s a good combination. We’re happy about that.” www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/02/11/chivas-usa-urge-patience-bofo-bautistas-mls-adaptation-league-different-it-t

Armed and dangerous: Full preseason has Chivas USA's Erick "Cubo" Torres primed for fast start[/B] CARSON, Calif. – Though Erick “Cubo” Torres fizzled a bit after his hot start last year – he finished his rookie campaign on a six-game scoreless streak – what the forward managed to do before then has new Chivas USA head coach Wilmer Cabrera grinning from ear to ear. The Goats lacked a consistent offensive weapon all of 2013 until Torres arrived from parent club CD Guadalajara in mid-July and proceeded to lead the team with seven goals. “We’re expecting that he’ll continue working the way he works, with his mentality to score goals, be close to the area and cause problems for opponents,” Cabrera told MLSsoccer.com. “He has a good mentality and likes to score goals. We like him and like that he’s always thinking about scoring.” www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/02/12/armed-and-dangerous-full-preseason-has-chivas-usas-erick-cubo-torres-primed-

Marvin Chavez heads to Chivas USA as part of flurry of deals with Colorado Rapids, Toronto FC Chivas acquired Honduran international Marvin Chávez (above) from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for striker Luke Moore and forward Ryan Finley from the Columbus Crew for a conditional second-round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. We are very happy to add Marvin Chávez and Ryan Finley to our club as they will immediately bolster our attack,” Chivas USA head coach Wilmer Cabrera said in a statement. “Chávez is one of the best wide midfielders in the league and is very versatile at creating scoring opportunities. Finley will fit perfectly in our plan as a center forward, as his mobility and approach to the game will support and complement Erick Torres’ skills up top.” www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/05/08/marvin-chavez-heads-chivas-usa-part-flurry-deals-colorado-rapids-toronto-fc

Chivas USA part ways with Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista after uneventful two months The short-lived relationship between Chivas USA and longtime Mexican national team veteran Adolfo “Bofo” Bautista officially ended on Tuesday, when the two sides mutually agreed to part ways. A former Chivas de Guadalajara legend and an international with 38 career appearances with Mexico, the 34-year-old Bautista joined Chivas USA on March 9 and failed to score in any of his seven appearances with the club this season. “We want to thank Adolfo Bautista for his dedication, commitment and professionalism during his time with our club,” Chivas USA head coach Wilmer Cabrera said in a statement. “He is a respected leader on and off the field, and we wish him the best of luck in all his endeavors moving forward.” www.reddit.com/tb/25h1dg

Chivas USA say easy decision to extend Erick "Cubo" Torres loan is part of 3-year plan Chivas USA’s loan extension of budding star Erick “Cubo” Torres earlier this week was as close to a no-brainer as it gets for first-year club president Nelson Rodriguez. The Rojiblancos knew for quite some time they would keep Torres, but opted to wait until this week to make it official. The 21-year-old will remain with the Goats for the remainder of the 2014 season, and the club has the option to retain his services beyond this year, as well. For the Goats, holding onto the player who has scored nine of their 14 goals this season was one huge sigh of relief. www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/06/11/chivas-usa-say-decision-extend-erick-cubo-torres-loan-part-3-year-plan
