Colorado officially signing of Chilean forward HarbottleThe Colorado Rapids added to their stable of South American talent on Thursday, announcing the expected signing of Chilean winger Kevin Harbottle. The 22-year-old winger and Chilean national teamer joins the Rapids from Chilean powerhouse Universidad Católica. Harbottle will be eligible pending receipt of his P-1 work visa and International Transfer Certificate. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. “Kevin is a young, dynamic attacking player who will be a great fit for our squad this season,” Rapids technical director Paul Bravo. “At just 22 years old, he’s already proven he can play at a high level, and we look forward to helping him develop further as he integrates into our team and our league." www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2013/01/17/colorado-officially-signing-chilean-forward-harbottle

Rapids rave about Harbottle: "People are gonna like this kid"COMMERCE CITY, Colo.- The Rapids’ newest South American acquisition is a little awkwardly shy and is maybe a bit self conscious about his inability to speak the local tongue in his new home. But once he begins to speak, Kevin Harbottle, signed from Chilean powerhouse Catolica only last month, opens up freely. And Rapids head coach Oscar Pareja is hoping his signing will help open up the field by providing width along the left wing this season. The Rapids had been tracking the diminutive winger, whom they signed in January, for much of the offseason. And although he only stands at just 5-foot-5, Harbottle brings the skill and pace the Rapids are looking for in their midfield. www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2013/02/17/rapids-rave-about-harbottle-people-are-going-kid
