Derby Drama Set To Unfold
Toronto trained at Montreal's Olympic Stadium Friday ahead of first MLS meeting between sides. MONTREAL – This is no time for Toronto FC to feel sorry for themselves. Yes, their CONCACAF Champions League dream ended with a 6-2 loss to Santos Laguna on Wednesday. Yes, they're still without their captain, Torsten Frings. And yes, they're running an injured and short-handed defense into the ground with a packed early schedule. But there is no time to worry about fatigue as they get set to play their fifth game in 14 days – and eighth match in a month – on Saturday against the Montreal Impact at Olympic Stadium (Live on TSN at 12 p.m. ET). “There will be some tired legs after the game this weekend for sure,” Canadian international midfielder Terry Dunfield said after training at Olympic Stadium on Friday afternoon. “But coming here to probably our biggest rival in the league, the fatigue will be the last thing on our mind. We’ll be giving a hundred percent tomorrow and we’ll deal with that next week.” www.torontofc.ca/news/2012/04/derby-drama-set-unfold

TFC's Winter promises changes, addresses job securityMONTREAL – Toronto FC manager Aron Winter won't be standing pat as he watched his team fall to its fourth successive league loss to start the season on Saturday. “It’s very simple, in the coming weeks I’m going to change some things,” Winter told reporters after his team lost 2-1 to the Montreal Impact at Olympic Stadium. “Zero points out of four games. I prefer to do it different with some players who are not making those mistakes or they want to battle.” Winter was not happy with the way the team opened the derby match against Montreal, Toronto’s biggest rivals. He felt that his team played better after they were reduced to 10 men when defender Logan Emory took a red card for a tackle in the 65th minute. “It wasn’t a red card,” Winter said. “I think with 10 men we were playing better than [with] 11, much better. You can make mistakes, but what I didn’t like was how we reacted, how we started.” www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/04/07/tfcs-winter-promises-changes-addresses-job-security

Toronto FC relish composed win over Montreal: "We looked like the team that was going to the playoffs"TORONTO - A first-half strike by Robert Earnshaw was enough to see Toronto FC dispatch a desperate Montreal Impact side by a 1-0 margin on a cold, soggy Saturday afternoon at BMO Field. TFC opened the scoring in the 16th minute when a lucky bounce allowed midfielder Jonathan Osorio to unleash a shot in the Impact penalty box that Earnshaw redirected past Montreal goalkeeper Troy Perkins. Toronto were worthy winners and had multiple chances to increase their lead during the first half. The first arrived via another fortuitous bounce in the 33rd minute that enabled Earnshaw and Bright d**e to go in alone on Perkins. However, the two TFC strikers got in each other’s way and the Impact 'keeper blocked Earnshaw’s shot. www.torontofc.ca/news/2013/10/reds-upset-impact-season-finale
