Aztex to Play Haiti in Friendly April 28Central Texas serving as temporary home to national team Austin Aztex News Release - www.austinaztex.comMonday, April 19, 2010 AUSTIN, TX -- At about 5 p.m. on January 12, the nation of Haiti shook to its very core – literally. A 7.0 magnitude earthquake rocked the island nation, decimating it and all its inhabitants. Victimized along with the loss of more than 230,000 people and three million displaced residents was the Haitian Football Association, whose building collapsed in the quake, killing 32 of its members – including two coaches. Since then, the Haitian Men’s National Team has been searching for a permanent home as thousands of Haiti’s residents are living in their stadium and on their pitch. For two weeks, Central Texas serves to fill that void. Through a church group connection, the Haitian National Team finds themselves in Texas for training and a series of friendly matches. At 7:30 p.m. on April 28, House Park and the Aztex play host to the squad. usl1.uslsoccer.com/home/420422.html

Back-and-Forth Affair Goes to Colo-Colo 4-3 in the EndWith Chilean giants Colo-Colo playing 11 of their regular starters from the outset, FC Edmonton and the 5,500 fans at Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday knew that the match was going to be a huge challenge for the young squad. The first few minutes of the game were played, for the most part, in the midfield with a few chances going to the Chileans but both were called back on the offside. FC Edmonton had its first half-chance in the third minute when a cross was sent into the box, but it sailed high over the heads of the oncoming strikers and went for a goal kick. www.fcedmonton.com/content/back-and-forth-affair-goes-colo-colo-4-3-end
