I like this team to win this group. They have Van Der Sar in goal, Giovanni van Bronckhorst holding up the back, a strong midfield in the form of Van Der Dart and Wesley Sneijder. Plus your have to look at who they have up front. - Robin van Persie
- Ruud van Nistelrooy
- Dirk Kuyt
- and the young Klaas Jan Huntelaar

van Nistelrooy is the man. Should've picked him up for my fantasy team. A lot of people dont have the Netherlands going far into the tourney.

looks like France is going to the bottom of the group with a loss to the men in Orange. Ah well, I still love my Les Bleus. Now we need to beat Italy just to say we can, it looks like my bracket as well as fantsay is all jacked up. I might be losing points today.

Wow what a day.... and how good are the Dutchies looking??? It is rare to see such a good game at this level - the movement of the Dutch particularly on the break was sublime, absolutely sublime, the last goal by snijder was just a delight, you KNEW they were going to score you could see it coming and the French could do nothing about it.. I loved the second goal, Van Nistelroys turn on the side-line was magical, Robben was fantastic and although I am not keen on Van Percie, that strike was enough to knck a man into the back of the net - didn't matter that it hit the keeper, he just hit it sooo hard....! And what about Robben's goal - no where to go, so takes a punt from a ridiculous angle - and scores - no credit to the French keeper - I don't think he stood much of a chance with the Van Percie goal, but he should have stopped Robben's... Add to that Henry's deft touch for the French goal, and every one was a delight. Henry used to lob keepers for fun - he is not the Henry we are used to seeing! Who would have placed a bet on Romania and Holland making it through this round?? would have been worth a go in retrospect.. I remain absolutely delighted to have watched such entertaining football, credit to both teams, absolute reverence to the mighty orange at the moment....awesome, awesome. awesome... I only wish England could find their potential like this. I tell you what though, Capello is on the right track talking about team spirit - Holland play like a team, in the last French match, no-one was looking for a pass in the final quarter, they were looking for glory and failed. Holland are looking to pass the ball all around the pitch unselfishly to get the ball to the man with the best chance of scoring - the second and especially the fourth Dutch goal illustrate this perfectly... I imagine a fair amount on money is on Holland now....
Oh by the way in case the significance has escaped anyone - who played in the last World Cup Final? France v Italy - who has just thrashed both the winner and the runner-up of the last World Cup in the same week? Holland

yep. Don't get to caught up on the Dutch yet, they might fall apart in the quarter-finals or semis.

Of course just starting well means nothing at the knock-out stages, but when you have just comprehensively beaten both finalists of the last world cup, that's gotta make you feel up for it!

the big names have been: Portugal, Spain, Germany, France and Italy I haven't seen anyone play as well as the Dutch - obviously every game is a fresh start, but I think they stand as good a chance as anyone right now...

Spain are playing decent for once at the moment though. And Holland are a class act.
